Went for yet another Uni open house just yesterday. The last one. I went to NUS this time and I sure did make sure I arranged to meet up with everyone who had said they wanted to attend this open house with me. Well, just two guys actually.
So I met up with HX and A early in the morning at 10am at Kent Ridge MRT before taking a shuttle bus over to NUS open house. Just like the other open houses, there were lots of people of course. It was also extremely noisy hahas. Anyways, we were really focused on what we wanted to query about having been to so many open houses already before this so we just broke off and visited only those booths we had an interest in. I of course went to the Environmental Science booth and queried about the environmental course in NUS. By the end of my talk with the attendant of the booth, I could tell that the course aimed to have its students be diversified and have various differetn skills taught to the students. Apparently, the selection was also done partly by interviews. I sure am hoping to at least be eligible for the interviews hahas.
I also went around to look at several other booths such as Music or the Chinese Studies. Other than the Music course which has its selection based on auditions, the rest of the courses looked really competitive and I seem to have a really slim chance of getting a place here. Furthermore, the FASS is also really competitive and to take any one course from there, you'd have to select one course from each of the three categories listed there. Thus, that seems tough too, Currently, I'm not considering taking up any courses from FASS for now. Rather, I do not even have much chance of competing with others for a place in that course. Hahas.
As before, I met a couple of friends there at NUS open house too. Hahaha... some of whom I had problem recalling who they were though their faces looked really familiar. Ir was really quite and odd feeling to see a familiar face but not know who that person is.
Back to the open house. After the visit to NUS open house, I certainly do feel that I might have better chances at NTU as compared to NUS as the requirements for most courses in NUS are really demanding. Still, I'll apply for courses from both universities accordingly and see what comes out.
When the letter N and the letter S come together, it's a whole new world out there
