Epic dinner

Hahaha... so it's Friday night again! Late in the night at 0100 hrs... And I'm still up waiting for a mouse to find a letter so I can begin hunting for toy parts lol! Anyways, this thus gives me an opportunity to blog haha!
So like I said, today is Friday so I met JL for dinner as usual as it is his book out today as usual. Today though, the dinner had another meaning. This was to be our last dinner together before my one week trip to China and I really wanted everything to go smoothly and have the dinner be a really awesome and memorable one.
So I met JL at JE MRT station after book out and we trained to Tampines. I wanted to get JL an ice cream log cake from Swensen's for his Christmas as I would not be able to spend this Christmas with him. However, as this is an ice cream log cake, JL would have to collect it on his own and bring it home asap. Thus, that was why I chose Swensen's@ Tampines. Haha, knowing that JL loved Cookies and Cream ice cream, I thus selected the 'Santa's Delight' ice cream log cake for him. This was partly also because that cake had Oreo's cookies placed along the sides of the cake which were JL's favourite too! In order to ensure that I did get to book the cake for collection tomorrow, we thus headed to Swensen's first thing when we got to Tampines Mall. There was already a long queue of hungry diners outside the restaurant but thankfully, the ordering of log cakes was through another avenue. There were attendants specifically assigned the role of taking orders for log cakes and the order was done within minutes. Hahas! So JL was sure to have a log cake for Christmas by evening tomorrow. An ice cream one!
JL's words of thanks and his expression after I had paid for the cake really lifted my heart. I could really feel that JL really appreciated me getting him this cake. To me, this was just my little gesture as a way of apology for not being able to spend our first Christmas together. However, I could really feel that my giving him this cake really meant a lot more to him haha! I was just really glad that he appreciated this.
We then proceeded to Ajisen Ramen@ Tampines to satisfy my craving for some soup noodles. I was spoilt for choice with the great variety of ramen on the menu but finally decided on a pork and kimchi one haha! Due to the service there at the restaurant being really poor, the taking of orders and serving of food was pretty slow. Well, I guess there is a lack of manpower.Still, this thus gave me and JL lots of time to chat and we sure did talk... alot! Haha! As always, there is never a quiet moment when I'm with JL. Our chatting did bring us to talking about the zoo and pandas... and then koalas, and then there was this epic moment haha! I shall talk more on this later in this post. So we finished up with our ramen set meals and then headed out back to Swensen's to satisfy my second craving for the night! Haha, I have so many cravings tonight lol... Wonder if it is because this is my last dinner here before my trip overseas.
When we got back to Swensen's, the queue of hungry diners was still there. We thus joined the queue this time and soon got ourselves a table. Haha, but that was not before another epic moment lol! Again I'll elaborate on it later. Once again, we were almost certainly invisible to the waiters here which was probably due to the overwhelming crowd in the restaurant( can't really blame them) so me and JL had some time to sit and chat once again. Haha, we planned to be ignored actually so we could have a place to sit and chat. A busy restaurant like this was most definitely the best place for this as it was too early to leave yet and so we wanted someplace where we could sit and chat. Furthermore, once the ice cream arrives, we will hardly have time to chat due to us having to glup down the ice cream in record time before it becomes milkshake. Thus, we sat for about an hour there chatting away before we finally made our order haha! Again, there was a huge variety of mouth watering ice creams waiting for us but we really couldn't stomach all that much after such a heavy dinner. I had actually already planned on getting only one ice cream to be shared between us. Lol, it was already really quite surprising that anything could be described as mouth watering after our delicious and huge meal of ramen haha! We finally settled for a chocolate ice cream with hot fudge and kit- kat... o.O my favourite haha! It was once again really satisfying! We left for home soon after that.
We were going to meet up again TOMORROW!!! Hahahhaha... ehh later today actually, it's Saturday alr.

Okay... Now for the epic moments!
Epic moment 1: Haha, that was when we were chatting about koalas. I asked if JL knew what koalas were called in chinese and he said no. So I told him but somehow it came out wrong lol haha! I said "Koalas in chinese is really interesting, they are called "wu wei she"!! Lol!! It was "wu wei xiong" lmao! Haha, JL had been anticipating the  name then I came up with tailless snake lol! We both then burst out laughing hahaha!

Epic moment 2: As mentioned above, we proceeded to Swensen's for ice cream. As before, there was a queue there for tables so we joined the queue. The attendant who had helped us with our order of the ice cream log cake earlier on was now asking each person in the queue whether they wanted an ice cream log cake for Christmas. When she got to us, she did the same and asked if we wanted a cake. Haha, before we could respond though, she looked up and was quite shocked to see us. She then exclaimed," Eh, weren't you the ones who bought a cake from me just now?" Haha, it was super hilarious lol!
Haha, that's it for now! Those epic moments sure did bring smiles to our faces through our dinner and then supper lol! Quite an awesome evening spent with JL haha!

My first MAMA lolllll!!!

Hahahha.... It's really late at night now on this Friday night!! Guess what the date is?? Yupp... it's the 30th of November 2012!!
So yeah, today was the day that I've been waiting for since quite some time ago haha!
My first time watching the Mnet Asia Music Awards lol! Since I just got introduced more and more to the K-pop scene, I was really excited for MAMA 2012! It was going to be aired from Hong Kong haha!
The program was to start at 1600, with the red carpet, being aired on tv and on the official site of Mnet too. Haha, seeing as I would be in camp, I thus had to watch the front portion in camp. Well, things went far better than I expected. At least I got to catch snippets of the walk in.
Haha here's what went on in my head when I first saw the live feed being aired on my phone lol...
"Omg.. omg.. omg!!" Haha, like I said this was the first time ever that I was watching the MAMA and it's live too haha! I was really so extremely excited there in camp lol. It was like... I was able to see the mcees moving around on the stage and then there was korean coming out of my phoneeee!!! Omg, haha! Exciting righttt?!!
It was at that moment that I finally experienced how it felt to watch such an award presentation program LIVE!. The feeling was just AWESOME! It was just so exciting and exhilarating to see the Kpop stars arriving at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and knowing that what you see them doing is exactly what they are doing right at the moment!! Well, maybe by a lag of a couple of seconds.. but still AWESOME nonetheless HAHAHHA!! If you see them waving to the crowd, then they most certainly just did that! If you see them stepping out of the vehicle, then that sure happened seconds ago haha! It was like you could feel the presence of those Kpop stars haha! It will surely be all the more exciting when I get to know more of them in the near future uhh...haha!
Haha, I was this excited lol. Considering that they were speaking mostly in korean and I had no idea what they were saying lol. It was really exciting nonetheless lol! Lmao... I guess it was also the sense of achievement of getting the live feed up and working on my phone all on my own lol! Hahahhha!!
Lol... I had thought that I would be very pissed should the video stall but surprisingly, I was pretty cool about it haha! I had managed to find the program on tv and had thus done a recording of it. So I could still catch up on the parts I missed out even if the video stalled. And it sure did stall though, but the video was still really smooth and not jerky despite that so things went really well still. It was really **Awesome** lol!
Then I also saw F(x) at around 1630 lol... and EXO at 1700 haha! Of course, I didn't recognise them but seeing such a huge group go on stage, my immediate thought was... EXO! Indeed, it was haha! From the mcee's korean commentary, I could hear mention of the boy band EXO haha! It was the same for F(x), the mcee's commentary had "F(x)" popping out between words.
Haha... why mention only these two groups lol? Coz these are the only ones I recognised lol. Like I said, I'm still really new to this haha!
I rushed home immediately after book out and turned on the tv immediately when I reached home. Lol haha! I wanted to continue watching MAMA live lol! So it was four hours of lots of singing and dancing and giving out of awards from that moment on haha! I was really high and excited!
Then I thought, if the atmosphere here at home was already so epic, then the atmosphere there at the awards presentation must be like x10000000%??!!! Hahahahaa!!
It was evident though, everyone was having one hell of a time there haha! Everytime the camera panned to the audience, there were people either dancing away to the beat, singing along or just wearing huge smiles and chatting happily lol! It was just awesome haha!
The program ended off with Psy's Gangnam Style of course which really brought the mood at the awards presentation to a fever pitch haha! Everyone was standing and dancing and singing along lol! The event sure ended off high, high, high!!

kk, late le ciaoz! nights:)

Some hope in my fitness improving??

Hahas, it's Sunday morning once again and as usual I went jogging again this morning. This morning though, I noticed that I was perspiring less while jogging which was unusual as I usually perspire alot more. On top of that, I was able to finish off my four rounds around the park at my estate in a shorter timing too without me being too breathless.
I sure do hope that these are signs that my heart is becoming stronger and that I am becoming fitter yahh? Hahaha... I sure do hope so!

Great night hang out

Whoa hi all... It's 2.46am here in my room now haha!
I'm just back from a fren's house
Haha, coz his mum invited me over for dinner and then I just hung around in his room with his sister and chatted which was really lots of fun haha!
Well, at least I enjoyed it!
I must say, his parents, and even his family are really hospitable and really treat me like a member of the family haha
By that I do mean literally uhh
It does make me feel really at home the few times I had been together with them...
Haha, back to the dinner...
So we had steam boat and I was really famished actually so I had thought that I would have no problem finishing up most of the food there
However, I was wrong... For some weird reason, I was full before very long lol....
This was despite me not taking any rice though...
Damn... oh well...
After the dinner I then lepak-ed in my fren's room. I was introduced to the idea of online shopping for shoes and clothes once again which I found really quite interesting haha since I had never tried to get anything online before
I am sure willing to give this a try though
When that will be I do not know for now
But some shoes on the sites have caught my eyes though
I do need to get some new pairs of shoes lol...
Kk, that's all for tonight It's really late and I have another long day tmr
ciaoz!

Buying googles!

So it's the end of the weekends once again, and it sure had been fun for me. I shall start with Friday.
So I went to meet up with JL at his camp after I was done with the day's duties and we then rushed off to Jurong Point (JP) to purchase a pair of swimming goggles with degree (ie. so that JL could see clearly while swimming without spectacles). We were running a little late though as we were hoping to make it to the shop in JP before it closed. I had gone searching around for shops which sell such goggles and was glad to find several shops in JP which do. It could not have been more convenient. We were planning to go for a swim tomorrow and it was thus crucial that we get the goggles today.
The shop was still open when we finally got to JP...thankfully. After looking around at various brands, JL finally got himself a pair of goggles which he could call his own haha!
We then proceeded to Ji De Chi for some dessert. Looking forwards to swimming tomorrow.

AWESOME end to the weekkk!!!!

Hahahhaha... super happy, elated, estatic, excited right now haha! It's past midnight already and yet I'm still here blogging with such a high mood... Haha a little tired maybe?
So I completed all my duties in camp this evening and after settling everything, I booked out and headed for Gedong Camp. Hahas, it was to be my bro, JL's, first bookout today and he has requested for me to "pick" him up from the camp haha. So cool!
So I was really rushing to book out and when I finally made my way out of camp, it started drizzling lol.. I had not taken 10 steps and the drizzle had evolved into a huge downpour. LOL!! I was totally drenched by the time I reached the traffic light outside of the camp lmao! Well, waiting in the rain for a taxi proved futile and as I got more drenched, I decided to take a bus to Clementi MRT to get a taxi from there instead. I was hoping for a better chance of getting a cab lol but the long queue at the taxi stand there caused that thought to evaporate from my mind. I thus made my way towards CCK MRT to try my luck again. Haha, to cut the long story short, I finally got there and saw that the queue for taxi was much shorter there and with a stroke of luck, a taxi driver was kind enough to send me all the way to Gedong Camp. Haha, once we entered Lim Chu Kang area, I finally experienced just how secluded and isolated that area was haha. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. In fact, I loved it the moment we were deep in among the trees and vegetation. Immersed in nature the way I like it, haha!
When I finally arrived at Gedong, it did not take me too long to locate JL amongst the mass of guys booking out. Thankfully, I was already a little drier by then. First time there, very excited. Mission success in picking JL up from his first book out!

Dance again:)

Heys, it's the end of yet another week! So I've met up with JL again yesterday and we went dancing once again.
However, we decided to have lunch first before heading to Laselle College of the Arts(COTA). After meeting at City Hall MRT, we then trained to Four Fingers at ION Orchard. JL was going to bring me to try something new, at least new to me. I was going to be trying out Four Fingers for the first time. There was already a long queue of people taking orders when we arrived. In fact, several long queues given that there were at least four counters open taking orders there. Haha! Evidence that good food will soon be rolling around in my tummy! What is Four Fingers all about? Well simply, chicken and fries!
After looking through the menu, I finally limited my options to between the Chicken Chop or Wings which JL highly recommended. I finally decided on getting the Chicken chop though as I wanted a bigger portion. Moreover, as JL was getting the wings, I could just try a bite from his order. Next up, we needed to decide on the sauce for our chicken. The options were Soy garlic,  Hot and a mixture of both. I was quite surprised that JL highly recommended Soy garlic to me which I then selected. I guess I had thought that JL would have been turned off by the idea of garlic, but I guess this was just a case of a lack of a better option. Finally, we both chose seaweed fries over kimchi fries and Coke for our drinks.
As we made our way to our seat, the smell of the chicken and fries made me all the more hungry. I couldn't wait to try the chicken. Oh wait, did I mention that the food was served in mess tins, much like those used during field camps? Ya, that was something which was rather special. After we sat down, I saw JL tuck hungrily into the fries first. Well, that came as no surprise. I have already had a first hand observation of his love for fries the last few times we were at fast food outlets, especially when we were at EwF. I followed suit and tried the fries too. It wasn't too bad, not too dry. Next I tried both our chickens and both tasted quite the same. Of course, we both ordered the same sauce. However, I think mine might be slightly more unhealthy given that chicken chop has more fats.
After our hearty meal, we trained back to Bugis and made our way to Laselle COTA for our dance. I could see that my effort in practising the dance this past week has sure produced results. I was able to keep up with the tempo and could follow with most of the dance moves. However, there was still a lot more to learn and practise before I could dance like JL. Most importantly, I was still not getting the shuffling.
At aroud 1700, we stopped dancing as we were kind of tired and hungry already. We then looked around for a nearby Starbucks and found ourselves at Wilkie Edge Starbucks at around 1730. We then lepak there all the way until 2300 before heading back towards Bugis MRT station once again for home. I definitely need to practise what I have learnt over the coming week!

Awesome weekend Part 1 - POP lo!!!

It's Monday night right now. Hmm... and I had my most AWESOME weekend yet!
Haha... yup! This past weekend was JL's POP ceremony. And yup... he had managed to get me seats for his POP ceremony. So there I was!
The ceremony was early in the morning though. Thus, I had to get my ass out of bed really early in order to make it there on time. Well, it wasn't that the start of the ceremony was all that early, but the seats were first come first serve. So I wanted to be there as early as possible to get really good seats so I can witness my AWESOME bro POP. Well, the ceremony was scheduled to start at 0740 but I expected people to start arriving as early as half an hour before the start of the ceremony. So I planned to get to the Float@ Marina Bay by 0645.
Haha... I was to be meeting up with JL's family before the start of the ceremony so that I could gain access to the ceremony compound. We thus planned to meet at Starbuck's in Marina Square at 0630.
I was going to get to Marina Square by MRT so I woke up at 0515 and started to get ready. By 0545, I was showered, changed and out of the house. After a train ride, I arrived at Marina Square just slightly after 0630. I contacted JL's sister and we finally managed to meet up. I was then brought to the Float@Marina Bay, after meeting JL's parents just outside Marina Square.
Although there was already quite a crowd gathered at the Float@ Marina Bay, we still managed to find some pretty good seats. At least, as good a seat as we had hoped to get -- right in front of where JL will be standing for the ceremony. Then, we just had to wait.
As I sat there though, lots of emotions were erupting inside of me. I was thinking back to how far JL had come, how much hard work he had put in just to be here standing on this platform today, how much sweat he had shed and how much pain he had to endure. I was so very proud of my bro! I was also feeling really happy for him. All the torture and pain he has had to endure for the past four months would be coming to an end with the end of the ceremony.
Apart from all of that, I was also imagining seeing the newly trained PTEs marching out onto the platform. What a sight that would be! Then, I also felt a bit of envy and sadness as I know inside of me that I would never get the chance  to be marching in such a huge group or have the chance to be involved in a POP ceremony. It just felt really awesome to me to be able to make the long 24- km march to this platform and then end off months of hard work with a grand ceremony like this.
Still, this was my bro's POP and I should be in a high and estatic mood. So I brushed all those sadness away. Anyways, wasn't I here already, involved in my first ever POP ceremony? Hahas, it is all thanks to my bro JL uhh?
When 0740 finally crawled by, the ceremony started with the booming voice of the commentator. Then, it was the moment I had been waiting for... to witness the PTEs marching out onto the platform! I had always wanted to witness such a huge and massive force marching past right in front of me. It was sure an impressive sight to behold! Haha... I sure wished I was part of those guys out there, marching on to the platform, knowing this is the end of their torturous ordeal for the past months. The newly trained PTEs marched out from both ends of the platform and formed up on the stage, filling up every single inch of the stage. You can imagine the numbers... that sight, was certainly one to behold!
As promised, I did try my best to look out for my bro, JL. However, as he had said, there were just too many of them, and they were so far out and so tiny, it was almost impossible to see him. Hahas, JL's parents were also searching for him too, but once again it was a futile attempt. Still, we had a rough idea where he could be and so we had to contend with that. Then, JL's Dad asked if I was envious, not being able to experience being out there on the platform. Lol, I sure was!
Then, there were some speeches being read out by various people, congratulating the new PTEs of course and wishing them well from there on. After that, there was some prize presentation which was as always, the most boring and draggy part haha... unless someone you knew had won a prize of course. Then there was the applause, always loud at first but slowly as people grew bored, the applause dies down...
After all that, there was a break during which all the PTEs went back through where they had marched out from. That was to be the part one of the parade and there was going to be a second half after the break. So I guess the first half was meant to be the more formal part of the parade. Indeed, the PTEs returned after a short while marching quite differently. They looked quite cute actually, haha! The second half of the parade was much shorter and the parade was soon over. We then had to look for JL which was surprisingly not too difficult. After that, there was only one thing on everyone's mind. Home.
Later that night, I stayed over at JL's house, with his parents' consent of course. We then did some walking the next morning, which is part 2 of my awesome weekend. This past weekend was sure an experience that would be kept in my mind for a long time to come.

Under the cloudy sky with only half a moon

Hey guys! I'm back to tell you about my weekend once again! This post will be about a very enjoyable and rather interesting day spent in the East. As the Mid Autumn Festival is approaching, I decided to have a small celebration with JL to enjoy some mooncakes on our own before the larger scale mooncake 'sampling' begins this coming weekend. Indeed, one can never have enough mooncakes to eat with there always being too few mooncakes and too many people eating... right? Thus, it is always mooncakes 'sampling' and never 'Mooncakes feasting". Though the latter sure sounds mouth watering, haha! Hmm, you might have guessed by now that I wanted to have this mini celebration just so that I could enjoy a little more mooncakes this year. To my delight, JL went along with my idea as well!
And so, we began brainstorming for venues to have the celebration and finally decided on East Coast Park for a place less mainstream and more interesting. Since we were heading to the East, JL then suggested that we drop by Parkway Parade earlier in the afternoon for some singing at Teo Heng. We could then go over to ECP after that. After a phone call, we were squeezed into a three hour slot around noon as it was almost fully booked for the day.
This was the first time I sang k with JL and it turned out to be really enjoyable. In fact, I didn't even know JL could sing but he was not too bad. He sang mostly Kpop and I just joined in wherever I could, especially when there were chinese songs. We had arrived just before noon and had actually planned to leave around 3 since we only had three hours. However, we were informed that the guy who had the slot after us had cancelled his booking and so we could continue if we wanted to. Seeing as the sun was not about to set anytime soon, we took up the offer of course. We then sang our hearts out for another hour. It had been a long time since I had sung so shiok haha!
We got to East Coast Park just as the sun was setting. Although there were many options along the seemingly endless stretch of ECP for us to drop off our stuff and light our lanterns, (yes, we brought along lanterns too) we decided to hang around familiar areas and more importantly the area near public transport. We sure didn't want to have to waste too much time walking too far off and having to walk back later. Thus, it was at Area C where we decided to find a spot.
We were really lucky, I would say. It was a fair evening and the crowd was thin. It wasn't too difficult to locate a cooling and quiet spot not too far from the beach where there was a table. We took a walk while waiting for the sky to get dark and also bought a lighter as we had forgotten matches. After we got the lighter, the fun began!
I had totally forgotten the one big problem with having a Mid Autumn celebration by the beach. What am I referring to? The sea breeze of course!  The sea breeze was strong and relentless. Worse still, the problem couldn't be solved simply by walking further inland away from the sea. It was evening and the breeze was blowing outwards from land to sea so it was literally windy everywhere.
The only solution I had was to keep going further inland until we managed to find something large enough to block out the wind. We found a large rock and lit our lanterns behind it. Once the wind was blocked out, that part was completed really quickly. We then sat with the lanterns around us and enjoyed our mooncakes... yums! The sky got a little cloudy by then with much of the full moon covered up and only half a moon visible.
We finished up the mooncakes and then packed up. With only two of us, there sure was more to eat. We then got back to the bus stop and took a bus home. It sure was a rather interesting day yet again, and not too mainstream, right?

Impromptu Swim

I've just got home from another meet up with JL. Haha, it was really unexpected this time though. You might have noticed today was a Friday? Yeah.
JL had an off day today and so we went to swim at SAFRA Jurong. We had a really good swim basking in the warm afternoon sun and left the pool as the sun was setting. Then, we went for dinner at Subway, JP, before satisfying our cravings for dessert at 记得吃, a dessert outlet. Short trip, but it was great all the same.
Alright, ciaoz!

Welcome back!

Haha... I almost forgot! WELCOME BACK FROM FIELD CAMP JL!! Yahh of course saying it ain't quite enough so I actually met my bro JL for a quick meal at Jurong Point's Fish and Co. last Friday. Haha JL said he had never eaten at Fish and Co. before and wanted to try so we decided to have our dinner there. JL was free today so he trained down to the west to meet me up.
When we got to Fish and Co., there was a long queue waiting outside already. We queued up anyways. Just as well coz I was not done with the cards I was supposed to pass to JL as his welcome back gift. Haha I had hand- written and designed cards and letters, one for each day of JL's field camp. But I wasn't quite done with the cards yet and had some touching up to do haha! Mann... it had been quite some time since I last used my creativity and this was a good opportunity.
We got our seats after quite some waiting and it was almost 2000 by then. We made our order, three main dishes, and then I got back to putting the finishing touches to my cards. Hahas, JL left the ordering of food entirely to me seeing as it was his first time here. I just picked as wide a variety of food as I could. I chose lots of prawns and fries of course! After that, all we could was wait. I finished up the cards and passed them to JL. I could tell he really appreciated the effort I'd put into making those cards but really my effort was small compared to his hahas.
We tucked into the food immediately when it arrived. We were already so hungry with all the waiting lol! As we ate, I realised that there were flaws in the dishes I had ordered. For one, the prawns were much too over cooked and thus were not big and juicy. For another, the fish was also slightly over cooked and so was quite dry too. Hmm... a clear sign of the kitchen being unable to manage such a big crowd. There were lots of fries too... double the portion in fact! Thank goodness there were all those different types of sauces around which certainly helped to get all the fries down my digestive tract haha. Mann I simply love their exotic sauces. Each is unique and makes the food taste so much more flavourful haha! It wasn't long before we all got full though. Still, I was determined not to waste even a single drop of the sauces so I kept going at the food, soaking everything in the delicious sauces.
By the time we were done, we were most certainly the last one there. By then, it was already almost 2200 and it was too late to go lepak at a cafe. Thus, we bade farewell at Boon Lay Mrt station soon after. Hahas... my bro's back from field camp already, safe and sound:) Even the flaws in the food didn't manage to dampen our happy mood nor kill our appetite haha!

Turning up the beat!!

Hi... The start of another week, and the end of another fun filled weekend with my best bro JL! We went out together again last Saturday of course. This time, it was back to Laselle COTA for some dancing. Hahas.. only this time it would be me dancing too. I was going to be learning some K pop dances from JL.
I was to be planning this outing as JL was busy this past week. Hahas, I thus planned it as a gift to welcome JL back and included the dancing session at Laselle. This was probably the first time I was planning events for the whole day on my own as we had discussed what we wanted to do for previous events before planning them. I was totally unsure of what to do lol as I could not contact JL b4 that Saturday. But I put my best into the planning and thus the outing on Saturday was born. Haha.. I might add that I was totally not confident of planning an outing anywhere else other than at Bugis where I was more familiar with since we had had some meet ups there before. Meals were also planned at familiar places as I then planned to go to EwF at Orchard after our activities in Bugis. Hahas, once again as a gift to JL coz he's crazy over fries... hahahha!
We scheduled to meet up at 1000 and I took a bus 502 to get to Bugis Mrt, our meeting point. It was only when I went past Dhoby Ghaut station that I realised I should have gotten JL to meet me up at Dhoby Ghaut station instead. Lol.... I had fogortten the bus would pass by Dhoby Ghaut station lol! Anyways, as it was,we wasted a bit of time but did finally get to Bugis and then back to Dhoby Ghaut. We were in a rush though to get tickets for a movie TED! Haha... another of my welcome gifts to JL. A movie of a teddy which I thought was cute but oh well.. he turned out to be more than that lol...
Well, it was thus lucky that we were both early then and got to CATHAY ahead of our intended time. We were scheduled to meet at Bugis Mrt station at 1000 but got to CATHAY at about 1000 actually...haha! I was really worried that there wouldn't be seats lol!
There were seats but the cinema was already quite filled up by then and we didn't have too much choice. So we picked what was perhaps the last double seats in the back most row and started our long walk back to Bugis area where Laselle was.
Haiz... JL did point out to me that this was quite inefficient walking to and fro from Bugis to Dhoby Ghaut lol. I did feel the same way too but at the point in time while I was planning, I hadn't realised just how far both venues were from each other. It was perhaps made worse by all the road works there lol and the fact that this was the first time I was walking to and fro these places. Lol... ps JL, we walked a lot that day lmao!
We did finally get to Bugis and I was already so excited to get started with my dance lesson haha! I had been going through the dance vids over and over again just as instructed by JL and really wanted to see the 2D dance moves become 3D. Before that though, JL gave me a little show of  "Sexy Love" which once again got me totally awe- struck! It was only three days since the vid came out... and here he is doing it as though he had been learning the dance for a whole year already! Haha, I totally loved it of course... watching JL dance.
After that, JL then did a little of "Lovey Dovey" for me as an intro. I tried to pick it up as we went along. Initially, everything was a little raw to me but after watching JL do the moves for a while, I slowly got more used to it. As we advanced, there came some movements which I couldn't really get and I thought that one perhaps had to have some dancing potential to get it. I thus made to give it up but then JL said " You can do it de... you are learning so fast and have already learnt half the dance le!" That really boosted my confidence a lot and I started to believe that I could actually pull this dance off. I thus put more effort into my dancing. It sure was really lots of fun when I finally got the dance moves. I will definitely practise more to lock them in my head haha!
I learnt only half the dance before I took a break. I had a lot of recapping and digesting of information to do. I didn't want to learn it now and forget anything later so while my mentor took a rest, I practised a little. But boy... I was hungry with all that dancing and we thus left for Sim Lim Square food centre not too long after 1400. I was trying to reduce my expenses so I thought of a cheaper lunch instead. We would be spending again later during dinner lol!
We had a slow lunch, chatting while eating as usual. We had until about 1500 to eat before we had to rush off from here back to CATHAY for our movie. Fast forwards to 1545 and we were sitting in the cinema as TED came on. Fast forwards again to about 1730 and we had finished with the movie. Hahahahha... it sure was hilarious and a hell lot of shit! The movie was super hilarious with many hilarious and unexpected stuff lol! My groin area was also stirred quite a bit lol. Ohh... and there were lots of "Wth!!!" moments too. Quite an interesting show really.
So we trained to Somerset from Dhoby Ghaut after the movie and went walking along Orchard Road for a while seeing as it was still too early for dinner. As it was Mid Autumn Festival soon, there were mooncakes in Takashimaya so we went there to have a look. Hahas, there was some kind of Lion Dance competition there and it was really very noisy! Hahas, that's when I found out something else that JL loved... Lion dance! We stood there watching for quite a while before heading to EwF at Orchard Central. Hahas, this time though, we got there quite late since we went for a walk first. Thus, it was super crowded and we had to wait for quite some time before we got seats.
Although the burgers and fries we had on the previous visit were really awesome, we wanted to try something different this time around. Thus, we picked two burgers and two types of fries which we had not taken previously. Haha, what we picked certainly didn't disappoint and we sure had an enjoyable meal once again. Hahas... the curry flavoured fries sure suited my tastebuds perfectly and the Sour cream and onions flavoured ones were not too bad either. The burgers were ...well not as good as the ones we had before but then again, this was just all part of trying out something new so it's okay hahas... we both sure had quite a refreshing meal.
After our meal, it was once again too early to leave yet so we had to look for a place to lepak for a couple of hours. As JL had been wanting to take me to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream since quite some time ago, and there was one just down the same street, we thus headed there. This was to the first time that I'm going to be having ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery and I sure was excited haha! When I got to the place, and saw how crowded it was, I was all the more curious and excited to find out why this ice cream attracts such a crowd. However, we had to wait. We followed the line of people all the way along the counter, and then out of the cafe's other entrance onto the street outside, and then along the side of the cafe on the outside! It sure was an extremely long queue! I was qutie taken aback actually... it was only ice cream, wasn't it? It was already so crowded inside that we had to wait some time for seats. But that was not all the people who have cravings for ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery, there were still many waiting to have theirs...
Seeing as it was going to be a long wait, I thus suggested to JL that we take a picture every five minutes while we waited in the queue. For one, this will help us keep track of how long we've been in the queue. For another, we wouldn't be wasting time then if we had all these wonderful photos to keep as memories. Hahaha!
When we finally got our ice cream some thirty minute minutes later, we got back to our sofa seats and tucked in immediately. Hahas, we ordered an Oreo Overload which was most certainly JL's favourite hahas.  I get the feeling he likes chocolaety stuff and Oreo's haha! My... it sure was Oreo Overload! Not only was the sticky ice cream tossed and turned with hellots of Oreo cookies bits and chocolate chips, the ice cream itself was overflowing from the small cup as well! Oreo Overload INDEED!!
The ice cream had already started melting by the time we sat down. We had to rush to finish it haha! It really was delicious mann! Now I know why there's such great demand for this ice cream. It was really just normal ice cream but the tossing and turning of the ice cream with all the wonderful stuff like oreo bits and chocolate chips really makes the ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery really special. We were soon done with the ice cream though, with all the rushing to finish it. We hadn't had time to chat much or really lepak much. Haha... still I was glad that JL brought me here. It certainly was delicious that ice cream. I'd like to go there for ice cream again... with JL of course!
It was not yet late enough to leave for home after we were done with the ice cream. Cold Stone Creamery was so crowded and there were so many people waiting for seats that it just wasn't right for us to hog those seats, even if we wanted to lepak. So we left in search for another cafe which we could lepak in.
However, we ended up just strolling around the mall and we were so tired by that time that we just decided to head home after a while. We then trained back to City Hall and parted from there. Hahas, my first time planning our outing! A gift for JL from me to welcome him back from field camp haha! Seems like it went well?
What a long post. A long day with many things done haha!

I'm on Andriod!!

Heys all once again!! Hahas... I am really super happy right now haha! I've finally got an Andriod phone... I've finally caught up with the rest of the world! Ohh mann... I'm soooo excited right now. After seeing friends send tweets, make fb updates and even check in whereever they go, for so long le...I'll finally be able to do that on my hand phone too!!
Hahas... that being said, I,m still very far behind in terms of knowledge on using stuff like Apps, Whatsapp, using 3G, Wifi... so I've still got quite some learning to do, and gotta get used to using an Andriod phone. But seriously, holding my new Samsung S2 in my hands right now is more than enough for the time being... Hahahha:)

Journey to the East (Part Two)

Continuing where I left off from my previous post, me and JL were walking around in Tampines Mall and soon there was nothing much else to do there. We grew bored and I wanted to explore more of the east, so we took a bus to East Coast Park - Bus 10. However, our surroundings started to get a little unfamiliar after a while, even to JL. We were clearly lost and so alighted and changed to bus 31.
We got to East Coast Park around 1330 and then it was my turn to give directions. I wanted to go cycling and so led JL to the bicycle rental shop which I usually go to. It was a really long walk there and I then realised that where we had alighted was very far from where I usually cycle haha... As I walked, I became aware just how hot it was that day. Still, I was very eager to go cycling. It has been quite some time since I last cycled at East Coast Park.
I selected a bike quite quickly and then picked a similar one for JL. Haha, this sure saves time in picking and choosing. We paid the rental fee, $17.00 for two hours, and then headed out to cycle. JL did mention to me some time before that he did not know how to ride a bicycle. As such, I was observing him a little, wondering if he would need help. Surprisingly, he seemed quite all right balancing on the bike and even riding out onto the path. I later realised that he only had difficulty balancing when he needed to turn... haha oh well.
Thus, I cycled in front of him to help ensure the path ahead was clear and also kept turning back once in a while to ensure he was keeping up, We didn't cycle very long nor ride very far given that there was a time limit of two hours. Moreover, it was a Sunday and the whole stretch of East Coast Park was really crowded. We soon started heading back to the rental shop, returned the bicycles and made the payment. Then, we left ECP. It was 1600. First time cycling with JL - checked!
Next up, we were going to head to Parkway Parade. We took bus 43 this time after getting out of ECP, back all the way we had walked earlier on in the day. We got to Parkway Parade at 1630. That was probably the first time I was there, or at least the only time I remember being there and the mall looked huge! Like really huge! There was Isetan, Cold Storage, Giant and Mark's and Spencer all in one mall... Wow! We walked around a little of course, but given the size of the mall, we didn't cover the whole mall. After Parkway Parade, it was Katong 112 next.
We got to Katong 112 by walking through this other mall called Roxy Square. Again, these were malls I had no memory of ever having visited. Orhmagawd... the carpeted flooring of 112 was really interesting haha! I don't think I've been to a mall with carpeted flooring before. Again having not been there, we walked around a little then went up to Food Republic for some light food. Although we only wanted a light snack after all our travelling, we still ate quite a little too much. After our quick meal, we sat there and rested for a while, playing some Sudoku, until it was 1830. Then, we decided to walk around some more and eventually found ourselves at the Aqua Playground, It was once again another place which was quite cool, literally and otherwise, haha! There was water everywhere, only that it wasn't flooded like in a swimming pool.
It was already really cold in the air-conditioned Katong 112 Mall, When we went outside, it was not much better, thanks to the strong winds whipping and howling around us. Brrrr... It was time for dinner by then and since we had already come all the way to this part of the east, Katong Laksa was a must! When we got to our destination, I could see that there were at least three shops selling Katong Laksa around us. I was following behind JL and finally stopped at this shop called 328 Katong Laksa. I decided to just have whatever JL was getting for himself as he knew that place better, and so two medium bowls of Laksa became the first item on our order list. We also ordered lime juice, one for each of us. When I saw that there was Otah on the menu too, there was no need to think twice about adding that to our order as well. I soon realised that almost all the other tables had a plate of Rojak while waiting for our food to arrive. I went and got a plate of that as well, some appetizer to warm our tongues up to taste awesome food.
As we waited for our food, I vaguely recalled having had Katong Laksa before a long long time ago. It might have been here in this shop, or an older shop before this one we were sitting in now. Anyways, I sure remember that the younger me then was still not accustomed to having spicy food and Katong Laksa has since then been edged in my mind as something I did not like. I was going to get a new experience eating Katong Laksa this time though, one which would add Katong Laksa into my list of favourite dishes.
Needless to say, our orders soon came and we gobbled them up. Surprisingly, not only did the Laksa not seem as spicy, I even added more chilli to spice it up! It was truly delicious, a very satisfying meal indeed! The end of our meal meant the end of my trip to the East for now. I will be back!!

Journey to the East (Part One)

I guess you guys must have heard of Journey to the West right? A Classical novel of Chinese literature. Well, I took a little trip to the East and spent some time there just yesterday. East region of Singapore I mean. I'm not writing about my journey there, but what I did when I got there, haha.
I set off from home at 0850 and took an MRT all the way to the Simei. I was to be meeting up with JL there to try out some pancakes made by his Mum. Thus, that was my breakfast yesterday - pancakes! That was at Hola Cafe which is right next to Simei MRT station. It was my first time there yesterday and I had thought that we would need to take a bus to get there from Simei MRT station when I first heard JL talking about it. Well, it turned out that the coffee shop was only a stone's throw away, literally. That was also the first time I got my breakfast "indented" for me as I got a treat from JL.
There was such a huge variety of flavours and fillings for me to choose from that I was really spoilt for choice. After I had selected a couple of different flavours, I stood there to watch the pancakes being made. The pancakes were made fresh upon ordering and arrived piping hot and looked crispy. I certainly could not wait to tuck in, yums! When I finally got to try out the pancakes, they really tasted so good that I couldn't stop eating haha! I really loved the soft fluffy, yet crunchy texture of the pancakes, and the wonderfully tasty toppings as well of course. Even after I was done eating, I still craved for more. However, I guess I will have to wait until next time to satisfy those cravings...
Most of the time, the pancakes we get from outside are made much earlier and are no longer fresh and crispy when we buy them. I guess that was what differentiated those pancakes from the ones JL's mum makes. The pancakes aside, I got to meet JL's parents as well who were both there helping out.
After breakfast, JL and I took an MRT to Tampines seeing as it was still early. We then went to Tampines Mall where I managed to buy a new pair of trunks at a 35% discount. The original price was $30.50 but I only paid $19.80 for it! Great deal eh?
There was nothing much else to do at Tampines Mall after a while and we grew bored. I wanted to explore more of the east and so we took a bus to East Coast Park, Bus 10. However, our surroundings started to get a little unfamiliar after a while, even to JL. We were going in the wrong direction! We then alighted and changed to bus 31. We then arrived successfully at East Coast Park... (to be continued)

Good food, good day!

It is Monday again today(actually almost over already as I write), and I've had yet another great weekend doing stuff that I like and filling my stomach with food that I enjoy. I was out with JL again of course!
First up, we met up at Mount Faber SAFRA for breakfast at Ya Kun. Haha, yes! Ya Kun again! Of course, I had my favourite soft boiled eggs with toast and Milo once again. Then, we had a swim after a short rest.
After our swim, we were quite at a loss what to do next. Haha, we had only planned to go swimming that day but had no plans after that. The other problem was that Mount Faber was quite in the middle of nowhere with no malls in its vicinity. Thus, we couldn't just hop into a nearby mall to spend our time there.
After considering some malls which were nearby(though still quite a distance away), we finally decided to head over to Vivocity via bus as there were buses heading there from where we were. We got to our destination soon after and were famished by that time, especially after our swim. I managed to convince JL to splurge a little and we had Japanese cuisine for lunch, exactly just what I was craving! Then, we went to 'Honeymoon Dessert' to have some dessert, another of my cravings.
Having had so much delicious food, we then went to do some window shopping after that.
Later in the evening, we then went to lepak at 'Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf' until quite late. The MRT was running until quite late that day as it was the Hari Raya weekend. A coffee to keep our energy up for the night was definitely the right choice after the long day we had. I wonder when we would get to hang out until that late again.
Alright, ciaoz! Till next time...

Breaking Limits!!

Hahas, my body is feeling wonderfully AWESOME now as I blog... aching, but yeahh, that's what makes it feel so good! Hahas the aching is the feeling that I've worked out my body totally... it's just shiokk!! It's been a long time since I've felt this way. Hahas, so wad did I do to work out my body till it aches? Well... I just had more free time today I guess so I spammed my usual work out consisting crunches and push ups and did 7 sets of 25 for each work out haha! That's 175 push ups and crunches in all!! Awesome ehh?
I'm breaking limits haha... gonna strive to do more!!

Day of Fun

It was Saturday yesterday and I was once again out with JL, in the Northern region of Singapore this time. We visited Yishun SAFRA as we had planned to go to all five SAFRA clubs, and this was the third one we visited. What did we do there? Swim, of course! Haha!
We had our breakfast at the Ya Kun outlet at North Point before heading over to SAFRA. When I arrived at the North Point shopping mall and had not received any notice from JL that he had arrived, I thought I was early, which was really rare by the way. However, even as I fished out my phone to notify him that I had reached before him, I got a message from him. As it turned out, he had also just arrived. Damn, why couldn't he let me be early for once, haha. Turned out my "sense of victory" was for nothing.
So to Ya Kun we went and it took a while before we got a table. I ordered my usual, french toast with two half-  boiled eggs, and the piping hot Milo. How I miss having breakfast at Ya Kun, especially those eggs! After our meal, we then headed to Yishun SAFRA Country Club via bus as we didn't want to get lost walking. It was indeed our first time in this part of the north. It wasn't long before we got to our destination and we headed straight for the pool.
After our swim, we decided to spend a little more time hanging around the north and thus headed back to North Point to walk around the mall. After some walking around, I noticed a Popular bookstore and we went in as I remembered that there was something I needed to get. However, whatever it was that I had wanted to buy slipped from my mind and I ended up getting some books on idioms and chinese sayings as I thought it might come in useful for my tuition lessons.
We soon left North Point and trained back towards Dhoby Ghaut. On the way there, I browsed through the new books I had bought and ended up having a sort of lesson on chinese sayings on the MRT. With JL misinterpreting some of those phrases, or coming up with his interpretations, that MRT ride turn out to be super hilarious... lols!
It was almost time for dinner by the time we got to Dhoby Ghaut. As I wanted to have some "good" food but JL wasn't keen on digging too deep into his pocket, he suggested we try out this place called Saizeriya which served cheap and good western food, the kind that I had in mind like steak or fish and chips...So back into the MRT we went and this time we alighted at Raffles Place. We then walked along the river to Liang Court where Saizeriya was. The food items were indeed not as pricey as most other restaurants and the food wasn't too bad either. The hamburger steak I had might not have been very good, but it was still not too bad. The other dishes we ordered were also quite on par with most restaurants. Most importantly, there was no service charge and there was free flow drinks with a reasonable price of $2.80 with any food item ordered. There was quite a variety of drinks available too.
We were feeling rather overwhelmed with food after our meal and so decided to take a walk along Clarke Quay and the Singapore River to ease the discomfort in our tummies. I do like such walks which are really relaxing. Indeed, it was breezy and cool as we walked along the river taking in the sights and sounds of the Saturday evening. As we neared the mouth of the river, we noticed a certain light show going on with laser lights shooting down from MBS. It felt kind of random to us at that moment when we noticed that light show as we had never seen it before. I later found out that the light shows are a weekly spectacle. It sure was such a coincidence that we managed to catch that light show. I sure want to watch that light show again haha!
As it was still not really late yet, we went to the Mac's at Raffles City to have a drink, but it was filled with late night diners. We had to walk up and down between the tables for quite a while before we got a table. After we finished our drinks, we then parted ways once again at the MRT station. It was a long day out but was also a day full of fun and enjoyment having new experiences and trying out a different dining venue.
The hour's late and me tired so... ciaoz!

NDP Nostalgia

Yupp... Hi once again! It's the weekend again and National Day had just passed. As usual, I stayed home for the National Day Parade on TV. Once again, it was really just the front segment of the whole Parade that really got my interest. The rest of the show was really just the performances.
Hahas, talking about the front segment, it was really quite a different experience watching that segment after having been enlisted. Most of the stuff during the marching was suddenly familiar and it was so much more interesting to watch it. Then, the performances came on but still, I kept the TV on. Lucky I did because the singing of past year NDP songs soon came on and I was suddenly filled with the exact same excitement of the eight, nine year old me when I was in school. Every time these NDP songs were played in the school hall on NDP eve every year, I would have this great happiness and excitement that fills my whole being and have an overwhelming urge to sing along. Well, from what I recall, I was more of shouting and hollering the songs rather.
Hahas, from the bits of flashes of past NDP celebrations in my memory, I clearly recall myself shouting out NDP songs over the huge din in the school hall. Well, no one would hear me anyways. Hahas, and it was this same feeling that overwhelmed me on Thursday while I was lying in my living room and I had this urge to sing out the NDP songs just like before. Well, I did sing, though not as loud hahas!
Then, while I was walking around in a shopping mall on Friday, I once again heard NDP songs being played. Of course, I started singing once again and this time I also felt like a primary school kid again singing and shouting these NDP songs with friends and family every NDP. Well, I guess I would call this the NDP nostalgia! Finally, I have found something to look forward to every NDP, these memories of my school days locked away, only to be set free with the playing of NDP songs each year. Now I'm looking forward to the next NDP, looking forward once again to the NDP nostalgia!

Working up the muscles...

Hahas, I've been working out my body a little recently with some crunches and push ups. Each set consists of 25 of each workout and I do 4 sets each day. I've tried doing it daily and it seems to work in building up my muscles a little. So I'm going to continue with it hahas. Well, at least my abs and biceps feel worked out after the workout so I'm certainly hoping this works:)

No half day

Hahas heys! It's the 8th of August once again... Yupp!! It's National Day eve again!
Haizz.... However, I'm no longer a student and there's most certainly no half day off from work for me today:( Somehow, this makes me really miss the times while I was in school. Hahas, this is the first time lol, that I'm not getting a half day off on National Day eve.

Engulfed in the Arts!

It's Sunday night once again! Wow... and another awesome weekend has gone by once again, spent with my awesome buddy JL of course! So we met up as usual yesterday, on Saturday. However, we didn't go swimming this time. My buddy had said that he would be doing some dance practices today with a group of his friends and asked if I wanted to have a look. Hahas, how glad I was! It's been quite some time since I had seen anyone dancing, what more it's Kpop dance! Hahas, how I love watching these really hyped- up  dances. It was going to be an interesting day!
So we met up at around 0930 at Bugis MRT station. Lol... I was late once again!! Well, JL waited well over thirty minutes for me mann! Anyways, we then walked to the recently re- vamped Bugis Plus mall for breakfast at Mac's. Hahas, it was only when I got there that I realised just how long it's been since I last had a breakfast at Mac's. It's been so long! I made my order of hotcakes with coffee as usual and sat down to eat with JL. Hahas, pictures of our breakfast were captured as well of course.
After breakfast, we then headed towards Laselle School Of The Arts. I then suggested that we made a booking for seats in Kuishinbo, a Japanese buffet restaurant that JL wanted to bring me to, so as to avoid disappointment. I made the call and we were then assured that there will be seats for us. I was so excited... hahas! Since we were headed towards Laselle, we made a detour to the "guan yin" temple for a little while. Little did we expect that the wonderful clear skies were going to darken suddenly and there would be a downpour! Omg! We were stuck in the temple and as time ticked by... we were also going to be late for the dance meet.We did our prayers and offered joss sticks. Then, there was nothing else we could do but wait. The dark clouds had brought along with it a huge downpour and we were sure to be drenc
hed even if we made a dash for it. Thankfully, this seemed to be just a passing downpour and the pouring soon diminished to a light rain. We then took the opportunity to make a dash out of the temple and headed for Laselle. I had a rough idea which building Laselle could be and we were thus able to find our way there. I had ever only seen the building from the outside but never been in there before. Once I stepped in though, it was starkly obvious that this is the place for arts!
It wasn't like there were rooms labelled ART, MUSIC or DANCE. However, the design of the place was so rich in creativity and originality that the arts part of me  overwhelmed me suddenly. Soon, JL had met up with his friends and dance practice began. Watching them dancing, and hearing the upbeat Kpop songs booming out of the speakers, I felt myself being enveloped by the artistic side of me and I had to stand and bounce to the rythm. Soon, I even felt like having a pen in my hand so that I could doodle or scribble on something. My right brain was totally hyped up mann!!
It was really refreshing watching them dance lol. It really brought the beat back to my feet haha! They were all so natural doing those moves that it sure was quite a sight. I sure was glad I got to see this, it was all so wonderful haha! As I watched on, it was obvious there was one of them leading the others. Haha... that was JL of course! He was so well rehearsed in the dance moves that it all seemed to come so naturally to him. And boy, he was a natural in dancing haha! My awesome JL bro!
It soon came time for me and JL to leave for dinner though and we headed to Kuishinbo Suntec via MRT.
We soon got to Kuishinbo, got our seats and immediately made our way to attack the sumptuous buffet that awaited our empty stomachs. There was really such a great variety of Japanese food in Kuishinbo ranging from the raw to the cooked, sushi to servings of meat and vegetables, from the stewed to the boiled to the fried... everything was there. Hahas and most importantly, there were desserts too! I was so ready to tuck in to my food hahas! A must have food item there was apparently the snow crab which was served cold. It certainly was huge too! JL then showed me how it was to be eaten when we got back to our table. Hahas, this was probably the first time I'm eating crabs this way. It was kinda fun! We had cold prawns too which JL really loved haha! Those were juicy and big so it was yet again a wonderful start to an AWESOME dinner,
Not long after, a waitress came over and served us two halves of a mini lobster. We were puzzled and informed her that we didn't order that. We were then informed that this was a plate of complimentary lobster for us as we made an early booking for a table. Hahas, that was when I remembered seeing a notice on the Kuishinbo website saying that it is much appreciated if diners make a pre booking for table before going to the restaurant. Hahas, so we were being rewarded for being obedient:) Haha!
Hmm... there was something interesting about Kuishinbo too. Throughout our meal, there would be occasions when the over- head speakers would blare out the jingle "Dong, dong, dong... I love Kuishinbo, I love Kuishinbo, I love Kuishinbo..." During these occasions, JL would then stop me enjoying my dinner and rush me off to join the crowd rushing off for I dunno wad lol! It was later that I understood that the jingle being played out every now and then meant that something special was being served. But we had to be quick coz it was on a first come first serve basis and there being so many people around, I didn't get any. Well, it was some special desserts mostly. I felt it was quite interesting haha!
Lol, then there was the sashimi. While taking some sashimi, I had thought to share them with JL so I took a little of each type of different sashimi available. JL did inform me that he didn't take tuna so I didn't get too much of that. I did notice though that there were quite a few "different" types of sashimi that were of the same colour as the tuna. Still, I didn't bother asking what they were. It was when I got back to our table that I realised that I had taken many many slices of tuna which I had thought were other types of fish lol! There were different markings and lines on the slices that I had thought them to be different kinds of sashimi. Seeing as it was all tuna, I had to finish all of them on my own... lmao! I would definitely cower at the sight of tuna for quite some time after this.
We soon filled our stomachs with all the wonderfully delicious and interesting food. Thus, it was time for desserts. We had to hurry as well though as we needed to move on to our next destination which was to be Gardens By the Bay. Anyways, as I had told JL, a special empty area is always opened whenever I get to the desserts time in a buffet. Haha... so we picked quite a few of the more interesting desserts and set to fill our already filled stomachs lol. We then left after having desserts and headed for Gardens By the Bay. Hahas, it was fitting that we chose that destination. Our stomachs were so overloadeded with food we had to go for a long long walk to allow all that food to digest.
We had to walk back down CityLink to get back to City Hall MRT to get a train though. After which, we then took a train to Dhoby Ghaut MRT and then we were clueless how to get to Bayfront station which was the station nearest to Gardens By the Bay. We then walked from the North South Line area of Dhoby Ghaut MRT to the Circle Line area and asked the service counter staff there how we could get to Bayfront station.Lol, the counter staff seemed quite irritated and rambled off some instructions which I didn't really get. Seeing that I didn't quite comprehend his instructions, he then rummaged for a small little pocket sized folded up map of the MRT lines and passed it to me, telling me the instructions were inside. All the while, he wore a really irritable expression though. I was thinking that the staff was really unfriendly and not at all cut out to work in the service sector when I saw more and more people, coming one by one to ask for directions to Gardens By the Bay. Ohh... so that was why he wasn't too happy to help us. We were most certainly not the first visitors to ask for directions to get there. Moreover, this was a Saturday and I could only imagine the number of people making their way there lol! I flipped open the map thinking that even then, giving us yet another map when there were so many around the station was almost pointless. It was then that I saw clear instructions in the map on how to get to Bayfront station. Ohh... so that's why he gave us the map!
So we took a train from Dhoby Ghaut to Promenade station via the Circle Line and then changed a train to get to Bayfront station. Once we got to Bayfront station, getting to Gardens By the Bay was not a problem. There was signs around giving us clear directions to get there. As this was the first time that we were at the Gardens By the Bay, we thus decided to have a walk around just to get a feel of the place. It was late in the night by then and so it was of course dark. Even then, I could still make out many interesting things along the pathways that we walked with the dim moonlight overhead. Hahas, mostly there was just vegetation... lol plants lahh. Both artificial and live ones though. It was really quite fun just walking through the plants in the quiet of the night. We did, as expected, see many people too. Most were like us, having a late night stroll in the park, enjoying the cool and quiet night life in the park. Others were sitting on benches, perhaps taking a break from all the walking, while yet others were "wrestling" with each other on the benches thinking no one could see them in the dark.
As me and JL  walked deeper and deeper into the park, we soon got to the heart of the park and even to the side of a huge lake. Well, at least it looked huge, though it was too dark to see how big it really was. That was also about the time that we got quite lost being so deep in the park and we were walking around mostly aimlessly. But we did have an aim though... that was to get back to Bayfront MRT station in time to catch the last train at least. Hahas, so we were walking around aimlessly but in the direction of Bayfront MRT station though. Still, we did get pretty lost along the side of the lake. Lol... that was really hilarious haha! It was like we were on an island in a city, and losing our way there lol! Super hilarious lmao!
After a very long walk, and a long time spent together, it came time to head back to Bayfront MRT station as the time neared 2330. We thus got back to Bayfront MRT station and trained back to Promenade station. Then, it was Promenade station to Dhobu Ghaut MRT station and then finally back to City Hall MRT station.
Once again, we parted ways at City Hall MRT station to go in the opposite directions. Both of us had a journey of 11 stops exactly ahead of us... the night was still young hahas! We would still be together through the journey via our smses and then back home to cam. Hahas, I was looking at the MRT system map some time later and realised that JL could have taken the Circle Line all the way to Paya Lebar station and then trained home from there which was faster for him. However, wanting to be in my company for a slightly longer period of time, he thus chose the longer route lol. Hahas, thanks JL!
Mann... we counted an realised that we spent more than 14 hours together today. Wow... this is most  certainly the longest day we've spent together since our first outing uhh. Cheers... me and JL will try to break this limit for the subsequent meetings haha!
Wow... what a long post. So much happened yesterday lol!!

Indulgence in the sweetness of life

Hahas, it's late in the night and I'm up here blogging again. I had my dinner at home as usual so that's not what I'm here to blog about. What's special and really awesome today was what happened before dinner.
My buddy, JL, had transport to travel here to the west side today near where I was so I scheduled for a meet up of course. He had said that he wanted some ice cream from Mac's so we agreed to meet up at Jurong point. I rushed over to Boon Lay Mrt station to meet up with him the moment I was free. When I got there, I had a brain wave. I hadn't been keen on having Mac's ice cream as I didn't really enjoy it. But there was another dessert restaurant here with much more interesting ice cream and a wide variety of desserts! Seeing as it was just before dinner time in the evening, I doubted that it would be filled. I found JL already waiting for me at Boon Lay Mrt station when I arrived. Omg! He had already been waiting here for 45 minutes already! I was super late!!
Upon meeting up with JL, I thus suggested eating at the dessert eatery instead. We then headed for "ji de chi" dessert eatery in Jurong Point. Hahas, I had decided not to change out of my uniform so we were both in uniform. It wasn't long before we finally arrived at the eatery. Hahas, thankfully I was able to find my way there I might add.
Indeed, it was almost empty in the eatery when we got there. We got a table and started flipping through the menu for something to satisfy our cravings for something sweet. It has indeed been some time since I last had any dessert. What could be better an opportunity than to have dessert now with my good buddy JL?
We ordered three different desserts to be shared among us of course! Hahas, we took a long time to decide though as there was really such a great variety and we were spoilt for choice. We wanted to try out everything there was on the menu but knew that we had to save some space in our stomachs for the dinner waiting for us at home. Finally, we ordered two cold desserts and one hot desserts. While waiting for the food to arrive, JL passed me a shirt of his. Hahas, this was in exchange for one of my shirts that I had passes to him recently. Haha... we now each had each other's shirts. This is going to be one of my most treasured possessions. Such a precious gift!
The dessert soon arrived and we tucked into them hungrily. Hahas we shared the desserts out with each other and they certainly tasted really good. We chatted while we had our desserts and it was just so much fun. I guess all the sharing of desserts, chatting while we ate and simply just being in each other's company made our time having the dessert extremely enjoyable and relaxing. Even the dessert tasted much sweeter and better. Hahas, this was just the right way to end off the week!
We soon finished up our desserts and parted ways for home. But.... WE'RE GONNA MEET UP TMRRRR!!!!! Isn't that simply AWESOME?!! Hahaha...

Wow... I'm Hot!!

Heys! I'm blogging once again. This time, it's about an unexpected break from work. Hahas, cause I got sick.
So yesterday was the start of August. And how did I start August of year 2012?
I slept early the night before on the 31st of July thinking I could get more rest. However, I was awaken at around 2.00am yesterday morning on the 1st of August with an aching in my legs. I chose to ignore it though as I really needed my sleep. After much rolling and flipping around, I finally managed to fall asleep. It was about an hour later that I woke up again due to the aching. It was really uncomfortable. Again, I tried really hard to go back to sleep and then I woke up again at 5.00am. This time, I had a splitting headache too. I was then contemplating calling off sick for the day and going to see a doctor as it was soon time to wake up and there was no point in trying to go back to sleep.
Moments later after 6.00am, I took my temperature and was shocked to see that the readings on the thermometer went shooting up way past 37, then 38... finally stopping at 39.4°C!! I've never gotten such a high fever mann!! At least, not that I remember.
I definitely needed to visit the doctor. I sent an sms to my spec telling him I won't be calling in for duties today and then left for the Polyclinic with my Mum who had taken the day off due to my sudden fever. I only left after taking some medication for fever though. After a long wait and a blood test at the Polyclinic, I was confirmed to be having fever, but it was not dengue. Hahas, I had been fearing the worst, that this was the dengue fever that I had been waiting for. I had been bitten by a mosquito with white stripes recently about a few weeks back. Thankfully, this wasn't it. I guess it may never come then.
So I was then given some medication and TWO DAYS MC!!! Hahas, I immediately informed my Spec about it once again. I then left the clinic soon after collecting my medicine which were free of charge as well. I was given medicine for my sore throat, fever and some antibiotics. My fever had subsided to around 36.9°C by then so I was almost cured of fever.
This is day two of my MC and I'm feeling much better now as I blog. My fever is non- existent and my throat is healing really quickly. There is almost no phelgm left already and I feel more comfotable speaking already. Yupp... I'll be heading back for duties tomorrow hahas!

An everlasting bond forged...

Heys all, it's Sunday once again and that means it's been yet another day out with my AWESOME bro JL! Hahas, we went swimming at SAFRA again yesterday. Jurong SAFRA!
This time though, we decided to get one other guy to come along,T. So the three of us met at Jurong Point(JP) at around 1300 and we then proceeded to Carl's Junior for some lunch. Hahas, seeing as I wasn't really too hungry and that we were planning to go swimming right after lunch,  I didn't eat much though. I just had some fries haha!
After we had lunch, I decided to make a quick drop- by Guardian to get some sun block for use for our future swimming meet ups. However, I really had to hurry as it was getting kind of late and the sun will not stay strong for too long. Hahas, I certainly wanted good sun for my swim so that I get a nice tan too. On the other hand, T needed to leave soon so we had to get to the pool asap if he were to do any swimming. I got to Guardian and after some looking around, paid for my first sun block lotion which cost around $12 and we left for Jurong SAFRA.
By then, it was almost 1400 already and the sun was indeed much weaker than I had hoped. It was also much too late for T to do much swimming and so he left. Hahas, now it was just JL and me, much easier for us to manage our time seeing as it was only the two of us. We decided to begin with a target of how many laps to swim. Hahas, we then decided on 20 for starters. It was really just OTOT for the 20 laps and we did take our time at it haha! Mann.... this was probably the most number of laps I had swam in quite a while. I usually just give up even before I had reached 10 lol! Now, with JL swimming with me, we encouraged each other and soon completed the 20 laps. Well.... soon in the eyes of the tortoise I guess because we only ended at around 1800! HAHA!! We then went for a quick shower.
After that, we needed to decided on a good place for our dinner. We decided to head to town lol... and ended up taking an MRT to Suntec haha! Then, we threw ard some suggestions for dinner and finally decided on Aston's. Haha, I have been wanting to try their Double Down Chicken since the last time I had a meal at Aston's. We got to Aston's and was greeted with a super long queue right from the entrance of Aston's, stretching all the way along the side of the restaurant and up some steps. Hahas, taking a look at my watch, I took note of the time and mentally started to time how long our wait for dinner was. It was about 2000 which was dinner time so the queue was somewhat expected. Thankfully, the queue was moving kind of fast too and we were soon cleared of the steps and headed towards the entrance. When it soon got to our turn, getting a table for us wasn't difficult as there were only two of us. A small table in the middle of the restaurant sufficed! We made our orders pretty quickly and got our dinner quite quickly too. Hahas, that was probably coz we were chatting away and time thus seemed to fly by. Wow... I sure do have loads to talk about with this buddy of mine hahas!
Ohh yahh, the Double Down chicken meal comes with a choice of two kinds of chicken on their menu. I picked Lemon Lime and Hickory's BBQ Chicken for that sweet and sour taste which I so craved then. Indeed, the long- craved Double Down Chicken didn't disappoint at all. It was superbly delicious and I literally cleaned out every single drip and drop on my plate haha. JL cleaned off his dinner too and we left after paying for our meal. Hahas, two pieces of chicken for the price of one. How is that not money well spent? I'm certainly coming to Aston's for a meal again soon. I'm sure hoping it's with JL again hahas!
Our stomach bulging with food, we had to have a walk around the mall before we did anything else. Anyways, there was still much time left. Thus, we did some shopping and poked into some shops for a whle. Our legs soon grew tired and we looked for a cafe to lepak. We picked the Starbuck's Cafe in CityLink and headed back into the underground. Hahas, it was not too long after that we were laying in comfy armchairs in Starbuck's with piping hot mugs of drinks haha! We had even gotten ourselves a cheesecake to share. Lepak lol! Haha... what was even better was that there were magazines there which we could help ourselves to. I picked a few and sat there reading while sipping through my Caffe Mocha(I think that's what it was) and taking small pieces out of the cheesecake. It was just wonderfully relaxing and peaceful. After another two hours or so passed, our drinks were finished and there were only crumbs left of our cheesecake. We got up to leave and headed back along CityLink back to City Hall MRT station where we parted for home. Hahas, we were both going in opposite directions. 11 stops separated both of us from home... exactly 11 stops! Hahas... how very coincidental uhh? We sure are destined to be best buddies!! Well, be meeting up soon again of course. Next Saturday to be exact... Hahahha!!

New found buddy!!

I'm here today to blog about a great day I had with a new found buddy, JL.
Well, it all started out with a simple chat with JL on a forum and then on to skype. Then, we planned today's meet up which was a swim at a pool in the east. In Tampanies actually. Hahas, that's far from where I live but we've set a goal to visit every SAFRA pool there is so one day, he's gonna have to travel too. Hahas....
After some googling and searching, I finally located Tampanies SAFRA. Once again, I enlisted the help of gothere.sg and was given pretty good directions which helped me get there with no problems at all.
When I got to my destination, locating the pool wasn't too much of a problem too as many people were headed in that direction. I took a look at the sky and confirmed that the weather report I read on the newspaper for today was quite reliable. It had said clear on the newspaper and clearly, there was not a single cloud in the sky. I was really happy! I was going to be able to spend some quality time with this new buddy of mine. I was even going to get a good tan with this new buddy of mine. I was early though and removed my shirt to do some tanning first while waiting for JL to arrive.
JL arrived soon after and we got changed and went down into the pool for a some laps. Between the laps and even during intervals, we did stop to chat. As we chatted more and more, I got to know more and more about him and I had the feeling that I wanted to have spend more time with him to get to know him better. This wasn't just a friend or another acquaintance before me. He was something more... a good pal, a buddy! Someone who I wanted to spend time with.
As our time in the pool grew longer and longer, the merciless sun just continued to blaze overhead, offering us no reprieve. It was really a clear day and there were literally no clouds at all in the sky. Thus, it wasn't long before I started to find it a little too hot to be comfortable and I guess JL thought so too. We then agreed to go get some shade in the shower room.
After a quick shower, we got back outside and decided to head for lunch. We continued chatting and conversation just flowed between us like we had known each other for decades before today meet up. In fact, we had only just met today. Surprisingly, there was no awkwardness between us. We decided on having KFC at a mall near Tampanies MRT station and soon set off.
Hahas, just a moment! I'd like to add that most other guys I had gone swimming with, our time together only lasted as long as we were in the pool. After that, we separated and headed on our way. Somehow. being with JL was different. I had a really good feeling about being with him and I wanted to spend as much of today with him as I could. It didn't matter that I hadn't eaten much the night before and I had skipped breakfast this morning. Hunger just didn't seem to register in my mind.
We trained to Tampanies MRT station and arrived there shortly. The KFC restaurant was just a short walk from the station. We ordered our food and sat down to eat. I had hoped that the Double Down burger was still available. However, it was not. Thus, I settled for a Zinger burger meal with some Spicy drumlets as I had really wanted to try those out. We then chatted while we ate. Hahas, the spicy drumlets tasted not bad. Well, at least it was not all just spicy but there was some saltiness too... much too salty rather. Haha... too much MSG!
We had time on our hands after that so we decided to go shopping. I wanted to get myself some boxer briefs so JL took me to a departmental store, BHG, at Century Square. After some looking around, I decided on a box with two pairs of boxer briefs inside. It was on a 20% discount due to the GSS so I saved almost $5.00! Hahas, I was so glad to have bought it. It's all thanks to my buddy JL sia! Hahaha...
We left soon after that but we're definitely going to meet up again really soon. Haha!

Retaking A levels

Hi guys! I'm blogging again! Recently, I've been thinking of retaking my A levels after being rejected by NTU. I've been thinking... my S- grade for H2 Math could really affect my chances of getting accepted for most of the courses in Uni lols. Thus, seeing as I have the time now, I might as well retake my H2 Maths. Hopefully, with more time to practice and re- learn all the stuff, I'll be able to do better, at least manage a good passing grade I hope.
Well, here comes the problem. Should I be retaking my A levels, I'd be taking it as a private candidate. I've heard that I'd need to retake all three of my H2 subjects and my H1 GP papers should I just wanna retake my H2 Maths!! So that's lots of studying to do yahh! And lot's of practicing and learning and re- learning for me. Hahas, as such, tuition is definitely on the list for some of the subjects like GP and Economics! I'd also enlist help for Maths but that's from another source hahas!
Well another reason for the sudden decision is that I'm starting to feel really wasted and slack after not having done any studies for so very very long. I'm also feeling really sianz most of the time as there's so much of my time just being wasted away... JUST LIKE THAT!
Thus, on the one hand, I wanna get back to studying so that I once again get back that sense of purpose and the wonderful feeling that I'm doing something. Also, I'm really worried that I'll lose all the knowledge that I've learnt from my JC years lol.
On the other hand, going back to studying will give me stuff to do while I'm wasting away doing practically nothing. Then, hopefully I wun feel so sianz and can get back the life that I used to have completing assignments and worksheets hahas! I've been wanting to do writing for quite some time already. I'm also losing all the Chemistry and Economics that I used to know at my fingertips... they're slipping away!
Hahas I'm really missing studying lol!

Reviving the joy of studying... something most people can't relate to! Hhahas...

Ant behaviour

Haha... thought I'd talk a little bout something other than my life for a change. Antz behaviour haha! I've been observing ants crawling ard during duties these last couple of days or weeks just to pass the time as I get really bored sometimes. And I have noticed certain interesting things about the way they function and behave. Well, it was more of me doing some small experiments to see how the ants would respond to the changes rather.
Firstly, I wanted to confirm once again what would happen when the ants' trail was blocked. I had a hypothesis for this though; the ants would stop in their tracks and be confused. Thing is, they would just not continue going forward. However, when I placed my finger on an empty spot of their trail, and rubbed out that part of the trail there, what I saw astonished me. Yes, the ants did stop but they didn't just stand there. Some of them actually continued moving along the part of the trail that was still there... hahas backwards that is! It was really interesting.
On another occasion, I was observing ants which had formed a trail leading to an empty canned drink. I wondered if those little creatures were smart enough to alter their course due to the change in position of their "source of food" and so moved the empty can to another location far out of reach. Haha... I observed that the ants continued along their trail and ended up pooling ard at the spot where their "source of food" had been. Lol... so it was just a big group of ants pooling there, clueless I expect.
When I went back to the can, I noticed that a new trail of ants had already formed there. Wow... it was really very fast lol!
There was another occasion though when I noticed the trails of two lines of ants criss-crossing each other. However, the two separate groups of ants never once got mixed up. Wow... it was really interesting to notice that lol..
I guess the ants were following trails with different scents uh... hahas ain't these interesting?

Improvements in my tuitioning life

Hahas! Really glad today! Just came back from my cousin's house having just given them the weekly Chinese tution at their house. Hahas, then again it really is just my little effort in helping them complete some of their chinese homework and giving them tips on how to improve their work lols! The word 'Tuition' certainly encompasses much more hahas! Okay enough of crapping! Like I said, I'm really glad today. Shall tell you guys whyy!
My aunt, my cousins' mum of course, has told me that tuition on Mondays will be stopped for the month of June seeing as it is the school holidays! Hahas, that's the joy of being a teacher. When the students get a break, I get one too. Hahahha... not really lahh! I guess this is just to give them time to focus more on their studies seeing as it's the school holidays and more can be done. Well, I'm glad all the same despite Wednesday tuitions still being on. This thus means that I get one more evening free for myself for the next three or four more weeks.
Another piece of good news! I have also been informed that tuition hours for Monday sessions may have to be extended as the older guys need more help with the language and thus tuitioning may be split into two sessions of one hour each for each of them individually. So longer hours means an increase in allowance hahas! Then again, this is still pending discussion and I may not be too keen to accept the increase anyways! I have just received some news on the recent results of their chinese grades and it doesn't seem that they have improved much yet lols, Lols, it could be the way I'm conducting the tuition. So ya... increase in allowance must be accompanied with an increase in grades righttt?!!
Regarding the increase in hours, I have been doing about two hours or even more on some days so the increase in hours of tuitioning isn't really a big concern for me! Hahas, cheers! This is definitely an improvement in my tuitioning life hahas!

Rejected!!

Hahas, not by a girl! By a Uni!
Yupp, finally got a reply from NTU today telling me that my application to NTU has been rejected. Lols, I woke up early this morning and saw that letter on the table. Haizzz.... this means that I do not need to continue hoping for NTU already. Well, I still need to look into the appeal though.
I've still got no news from NUS yet! As people say, no news means good news. I sure hope they are taking time to ponder over my application thus taking a long time to make a decision. Hahas, I'll just continue hoping for the NUS applications then! All the best to myself!

Moments that words alone cannot describe...

Following an invitation by PJC to attend the 11th College Day, I thus made my way to PJC with my dad and brother at about 2.30pm today. It was just a coincidence that my brother was to be attending the event as well. I had finally decided on wearing a long sleeved black shirt with green stripes which accompanied the black school tie very well. For shoes, I just wore my pair of bright blue and orange shoes which kind of stood out against the formal attire I was wearing but I was rushed for time so I just went with it.
Upon reaching the school, I felt really at home. The sense of familiarity of PJC is still there whenever I come back to visit. Somehow, it just feels really good to be back in PJC.
I proceeded to the hall immdiately after arriving and made for the registration table as instructed. I did as I had been told to do and reported my name. However, that did not seem to ring any bells and I was made to be directed to seats for the alumni although I had specifically informed them that I had special arrangements. Thankfully, with the help of some teachers there, I managed to locate the seats with my name on them and we sat down and awaited the start of the event.
Of course, we got seats in the front few rows just in front of the stage. Apparently, there were two teachers assigned to guide us around and "entertain" us as they put it. Hahas... VIP treatment much! So we chatted while waiting for the arrival of the GOH. Having not seen that teacher around before, I guessed that she was a new teacher in the school. Indeed, I was not wrong. I also noticed that we were seated just in front of the seats labelled 'Media'. Lols, this left me wondering if I had to handle the media again after the programme. Thankfully, I didn't!
Having not been selected to attend any of the previous College Day events during my time in school, I had really been hoping to at least get an award this time round so that I may be able to attend. To my dismay, this did not happen. Hahas, I am thus really glad to be invited to attend this year's 11th College Day.
After the unveiling of the new MLEP classroom and the arrival of the GOH, it was time for the principal's address. After some time into her speech, I suddenly remembered that I would be mentioned in the principal's address. Which is noww!! I started getting a little nervous and excited at the same time. My name came up somewhere in the middle of the speech and the principal commended me on my efforts in getting through with the A levels. There was also quite a lenghty bit about some of the stuff I did during my time in school and about how I overcame A levels. A bit too exaggerated so I thought. A different perspective I guess. Well, at least I didn't find it that much of a chore and struggle as was said. Hahas, that was how the teachers saw it I guess. Still, I find it too much of a credit anyways.
Then the principal started looking for me in the crowd. Although I tried to delay the idea of having to stand up and just waved to try to get the principal's attention, I still failed to get her attention. So it was with reluctance that I finally stood and she saw me then of course. Having already stood, it would only be right for me to turn around to face the audience. So I did, with great reluctance! Part of me still felt quite undeserving of all that the principal had described about me and I felt it kind of weird to be receiving so much attetion lols. Admist all the nervousness, I tried to wear a smile anyways.
The principal's address ended soon after and programmes for the day continued. A long period of prize presentation followed after and I was really glad to see that most of my friends and some juniors had gotten awards. Hahas, this also meant that most of them were around in school today and I am certainly going to catch up with them after the programme was over. Seeing many familiar faces also made the prize presentation much less boring.
Throughout the never ending prize presentation, I could not help feeling really nervous about the reception that was to come after. I was filled with anticipation and much uncertainty as the prize presentation drew to a close after some time. I took a quick glance at the clock and was shocked to realise that three hours had passed since we had taken our seats in the hall. Wow, time sure flies when you are having fun.
We then rose with the other VIPs and exited the hall first. We were to have the reception now. All the way down to the concourse, I felt like someone really important as the student helpers, my juniors, led us out and guided us to our seats. Of course, that was because I was with the other VIPs and this treatment made me feel really awkward. I would very much be treated like just another student of PJC lols.
We took our seats at the VIP tables of course and almost immediately got into conversation with the teachers and some guests around. We were then offered to get our food from the VIP area. However, I was still hesitant as most of the other guests had not even finished filing out of the hall much less taken their seats. It thus felt inappropriate for me, a mere student of the school, to be one of the first few getting food from the table. Thus, I just stood around but after more teachers repeatedly urged me to get some food, I relented and helped myself to the food. I wasn't planning to eat much though. The butterflies in my stomach were killing me and food was the last thing on my mind!
After clearing off the little bit of food on my plate and hanging around the table long enough not to appear rude, I excused myself and joined some of my friends I saw walking around. I met up with some guys, Alan and Jeremy. However, this still didn't really ease the weirdness I felt. We were all dressed so formally in long sleeved shirts and even with ties for some of us. And our greetings were also so formal and brief. Handshakes, congrats... all too formal lols! Haiz... we're adults noww! Miss the times back when we were studying.
Therefore, it was definitely a huge breather when I finally arranged and met up with Kee Wei. This was finally a break from all that formality. I had been cracking my brains on what to chat about when we met but none of that was needed and conversation flowed smoothly between us just like JC times. Soon we had even met up with some other ex- Alchem Club seniors and we continued chatting happily. Haha, I even met my good friend JY and I certainly noticed that he had changed quite alot while chatting with him though I could not figure out what had changed. Hahas, it was only after a while that I figured. He had matured! Hahas...
I went off after a while and had a talk with the principal. I took the opportunity to thank her for her help in the referral letter once again and informed her that I hadn't received any reply from any of the two universities that I had applied to. I was then introduced to some of the guests which included some staff members from SUTD and we chatted about my plans after NS and a little about my interests as well. They then invited me to visit SUTD. Hahas, that reminded me to go take a look at the courses in SUTD. I am certainly going to visit the SUTD website over the next few days. Hopefully, there are some courses relevant to environmental studies.
After the chat with the guests, with many of them congratulating me once again on having made it through the A levels, the guests left and I went off. I met Jeremy once again and had a walk with him around the school, partly to take a look at the newly unveiled MLEP room. It had been a long time since I last spoke to Jeremy but there was no awkwardness between us as we chatted while taking our time to wander around the school as night fell swiftly. We soon returned to the cafe and we parted, with me going back to look for Kee Wei.
Having not met up for such a long time. we both started catching up on each other's lives thus far after the A levels. Hahas, it was good to note that both of us are doing pretty well with really eventful lives even after JC life. I wanted to be the last to leave so that we would be chased out by the staff so we stayed and chatted until almost 8.30pm. It was then that I realised that we were almost certainly the only ones left in school other than the cleaners. Of course there will be no one to chase us out of school lols! Lolz! I had never stayed in school until so late. Hahas! We left school after that and headed to BPP. We walked around a little, talked some more, and finally parted at 9.30pm. I am definitely going to get in touch with these guys again soon. Hahahhas! Today certainly went much better than I could have expected. It still seemed as though we were in our JC days!
So I had an awkward, fun, memorable, nostalgic, honoured and overwhelming day at PJC today! I certainly am grateful for this opportunity.
It is really a moment to remember as I don't know when such an opportunity will surface again, if it even does!

Friday morning
