While hanging out with JL at JE just yesterday, we saw that there were booths set up there handing out these 'Step Trackers' free of charge to members of the public. After finding out a bit more, we got to know that this was one of HPB's initiatives to get people to be more active. This got us interested then as it was a good way for us to make sure we keep ourselves active and walk more instead of seeking alternatives. However, we were told that the "Step Trackers' have all been fully given out for the day and we were told to come back the next day.
This was why I found myself at Jurong early this morning just after 7am. There were only 700 'Step Trackers' being given out each day and today was the last day of the booth in JE. Knowing how early queues form here in Sg, we decided to be early. JL had already arrived when I got there and there wasn't a queue yet. I guess it was Snnday morning and people weren't planning on sacrificing precious sleep to be up so early. It wasn't long before more people arrived though and staff from the booth had to redirect us so that the queue would be manageable.
The booth was only going to open at 9am though, so it was definitely more than an hour's wait for the both of us. We didn't have to worry though as we were among the first ten people in the queue. We soon got our 'Step Tracker' and got to know that it was to track how many steps we walked each day and we get points for walking the required number of steps which can then be exchanged for vouchers! I sure am going to make sure I get the maximum number of points each day. which is 60 by the way.
The points accumulation only begins on 7th Nov though so I'm just going to be playing around with it and getting used to it for now.
Alright, that's it. Gonna start walking tomorrow haha! ciaoz.

Study guides have arrived!
Hey guys! Am back again!
Yay! My study guides have all arrived from London!
They had just arrived earlier this afternoon but it was a re-delivery actually. I think they failed to deliver it previously. I had been getting missed calls from a foreign number over the last few days and seeing as it was a foreign number I thus did not return the call. Opps... I guess that must have been them trying to get me. After receiving an SMS from them yesterday, I arranged for the items to be delivered today and now I'm really excited to finally be able to supplement my studying by reading up the subject guides. Hmm, the books have a bluish tinge this time which looks really nice too. Haha!

Skies are turning hazy
The indicator of air quality is inching upwards once again. Clearly, this is not a good sign. Indeed, the skies are starting to become more hazy these few days and I'm starting to smell the haze again. There has been greater effort in trying to control the situation, even international efforts. Thus, I sure do hope the situation will improve really soon, even if the effects of that 'help' have not materialised as of now.

PSI is falling!
The PSI has been rather low these last couple of days, which is really a relief after so many hazy days. The sky has been looking much clearer too which has really lifted my spirits. I might even go for a swim soon haha! Despite the low PSI, daily news reports still tell us that the haze situation remains bad and might even become worse. So I guess this is just a temporary relief... hmm
Anyways, let's just enjoy this much needed relief for now.
ciaoz:)

More hazy days
It's been a week since my last update on the haze situation. The PSI levels are still generally quite high though it has been fluctuating quite a bit over the past week, and the swings in the levels are really huge. There have been days when it was above 200 or even 300 and then some days between 100 to 200. However, the skies still look blurred and it does not look like the situation is going to improve any time soon, with the source of the problem still not removed. Those days when the PSI dips below 200 do offer some glimmer of hope, but the PSI soon shoots back up again.
Having said all that, I have been seeing people outdoors swimming and jogging. In fact, quite a lot of people, even children! That is worrying. However, I have also seen more people with their masks on while outdoors as well, even students at my school. That really is helpful as I would not be like "the odd one out" when I put on my mask. Although this shouldn't really bother me actually, health comes first! Hopefully, the increase in number of people putting their masks on means that more people have gotten their hands on some supply of the masks. It is really worrying to see people out in the open without masks.
Well, the haze is here and there's not much we can do about it. However, we can take measures to ensure that we don't get too affected by it. Do drink lots of water and put on your masks as much as possible when you are exposed to the air outside. Also, refrain from too much activities outdoors and do have lots of rest. I sure hope the haze goes away soon.

Spider problem
Hmm... spider problem. Yes, in my room.
Well okay, the spider in my room is not the problem exactly. In fact, I actually welcome it due to the mosquito problem in my room. Haha, using one "problem" to tackle another problem.
Okay, the issue that I'm having is, like I've said, not that there is a spider in my room. That's fine so long as it minds it's own business and does not bother me. However, it seems to find the space under my table very appropriate for weaving its webs which I do agree with as I believe that that's where the mosquitoes usually hide( I've been bitten on my legs and feet way too many times). However, it would be awesome if it would keep its webs to specific areas rather than everywhere as my feet occasionally bump into some "furry" stuff which can get really annoying. I've had to clean away its hard work twice so far which I am really apologetic about of course.
If only there was a way to let the spider know to keep to specified areas of my room...
Haha,that's all.. nights.

Haze...
Hmm yea, the haze is definitely more evident this week. The skies look hazy and blurred, and even the air smells charred. However, I still do not see that widespread panic which was the case two years ago I think. I don't see people scrambling for N95 masks or hear reports of those masks being out of stock in retail stores...
Or maybe it's because I'm now in Uni and I've been so busy that I've not really been keeping track of much news. Not to mention, I'm not in "school" where there are masks provided for us. One thing is for sure though, I hardly saw people wearing masks even when they were outdoors.
